Quantum mechanics, it is in everyday life!

Water boils when heated (infrared).
Heat is longer wavelength than visible lights.
Visible lights are longer wavelength than X-rays.
Wavelength: X-ray < Visible lights < Heat (infrared)
Water is transparent.
Transparent means interaction between visible lights and water is minimum.
Thus, visible lights don’t effectively boil the water because interaction is minimum.
But they interact with the molecules in human eyes.
To see objects, we need visible lights.
To boil the water, we need infrared.
==> Quantum mechanics is theories of lights and their interaction with given materials.
