When you learn how to fish from an expert, you learn the location and methods of fishing and will be able to catch fish. But this could make you become obsessed with the fun of fishing rather than exploring new places and researching new methods. Therefore, if you study to learn knowledge and skills (technology or techniques), you might be able to do a given job like a machine, but it will be very difficult to become a leader who has to make decisions based on thinking skills.
