Saving earth?

 We find words ‘Saving Earth’ in every places.  These words reflect that the changes in natural balance started showing its impact more and more.  Severe weather conditions, depletion of natural resources, and polutions.  ‘Saving Earth’ seems to be good words to warn people.  But as we find that earth had 5 mass extinctions throughout its history and as we find that earth recovered from the events, the ‘saving earth’ doesn’t make a good sense because earth will be move to just keep the balance. This means that we need to change the words to ‘Saving life forms’.  As we find that dinosaurs and many other animals were extinct after sudden changes in natural balance.  At that time, it was a big asteroid that hit earth which was similar to the tens of thousands of nuclear bomb blown up at the same time.  When this happened, oxygen is burnt out and mass amount of carbon dioxide generated.  Earth’s atmosphere is also covered with tiny dust which blocks the sunlight.  Thus, big animals like dinosaurs died first.  After this, earth would be started with primary producers (plants) again and other animals came to earth.  It is only matter of time but too long to compare human history – hundreds of millions of years.  Because of human activities, natural balance is being changed faster than nature can be adapted.  Evolution happens over long time so that life forms can be adapted to the given environment.  As we find from the history, whenever there are changes in the balance, extinction happens.  This is why we are talking about ‘Saving human’ and 6^th extinction as addressed in UN website.  

As carbon dioxide and green house gases builds up and as humans cut more trees which is removing carbon dioxide and generating oxygen, we change the balance faster and faster.  Some say global warming is a hoax.  But as we can see changing in balance is real and we know the consequences of change – extinction of many life forms.  Do we have to waste our time to argue whether it is real or not?
